Omg...

Bleach is a great anime but it has one fatal flaw....it totally ignores the lesser side characters.
Like let's be honest, after the soul society arc, what exactly is Chad's role in bleach. Cause I feel the only ones getting character development is Ichijo, Renji, Ishida, Byakura and oddly enough Zaraki. The rest of the crew do not matter anymore. They rarely get any serious role to play and if they do they usually get bodied and leave without completing the task. I mean heck even rukia is quite useless in this Arc. It takes away a lot of fun from the characters cause it almost feels like they are just here to make up the number. P.S. maybe that's why Inuoe is annoying and seemingly useless.......cause she has nothing to do to show her worth. I hope it gets better.

It was just filler so side-character don't really need any development. To be honest Chad's role was just helping Ichigo ever since the beginning to Soul Society Arc. He don't really need any development even his personality is already cool and good, his primary role is helping Ichigo as his friend to begin with unless they want to power him up or make him as a key for something.

Oh yeah I almost forgot that this is a filler..... this is surprisingly good filler.
But the entire Chad being just Ichigo's helper is my entire point. Like why......Chad is one of my favorite characters and knowing his entire role in this anime revolves around Ichigo is the entire point. He doesn't even do a good job of helping Ichigo. He is always relegated to fighting big villains and losing so Ichigo and other people with an actual arc can grow stronger and better using the same villains. It's really bad cause if you consider that some of the people getting an arc are not part of the main team, it feels as if the rest of the team are useless people waiting to be saved by Ichigo or the rest of the soul reapers. And it gets you wondering what role they are playing in the story.....which as of this and the next arc is nothing.

Yeah i totally get where u coming from. I always felt it to be such a shame the way Bleach later progressed. Especially if you consider some characters like Nel, Grimmjow and so on which just vanish entirely without a reason. So much was not explained and probably never will. But for me the biggest L was the chemistry between them later on, no talk about Ichigos mind or his worries or his goals/ friends and stuff. I could go on and on but i don't wanna spoiler anything so u get my point. :)

You are not wrong, after this filler things progress more or less th same, sometimes side chars are even useless than usual.

Like, what's the point to people like Iba, Sasakibe, Isane, Sentaro and Kiyone, Omaeda and so on...
